Jim Ball - Burnaby

Jim was elected to the Hall Of Fame as a Player.

Jim was born in Saskatchewan on March 20, 1927 and started playing horseshoes in 1935 on the farm with his father, brothers and uncles. Back than horseshoes was something to do. Little did Jim know that he would be competing with the best in later years

Jim moved to Vancouver in 1945, met and married Budd in 1950, raising three boys and a girl.

In the 1970's Jim joined the Central Park Horseshoe Club and the rest as they say is history. Jim also to this day is the President of the Central Park Horseshoe Club

Jim has excelled in our sport and has been a gentlemen on and off the courts, courteous and helpful to everyone. When he is not playing, you can find Jim keeping score somewhere or helping anywhere he is needed.

Jim's Accomplishments:
BC International champion 1977, 1989, 1992 and 1994.

BC Provincial Men's champion 1991-1994, 1997-1998 and 2002. With his 7 provincial titles, Jim ranks number t wo over all in titles in BC.

Jim has also won the Gold Medal at the BC Summer Games.

Jim has won numerous local tourneys, too many to mention in this write-up.

Jim has competed in many Canadian Champinships, all though he has never won the title, he has played the best acorss Canada and has won more than his share of games against them.

Jim is a epitome of a horseshoe player, a gentleman on and off the courts.
