A lot of personal information on Syd is not available. I can tell you that he was one of the greatest players of his time, he had many battles with the likes of Clayton English, Murray Rayner and Bob Timothy.

B.C. Mens Provincial Champion 1970 (60.5%), 1971 (62.7%), 1972 (69.4%) and 1973 (67.35)

B.C. International Men's Championship Class 1972 (71.2%), 1973 (68.0%) and 1971 placing 5th (52.9%)

He was the winner of many local and Provincial tournaments.
