The following is a letter to Fred Ormiston from Victoria President Munj Manhas dated March 3,2005

Dear Mr. Ormiston,

Thank you for considering the Victoria Horseshoe club for the BCHA meeting. I have no correspondence that has been forwarded to myself or the executive regarding the BCHA.

Regarding our Clubs Open House I would be more than happy to offer my assistance or suggestions to any club that is interested in our promotional advertising.

We believe that our club will be putting on the biggest promotional horseshoe event that our sport has ever seen. We have made 2000 flyers which will be delivered in our city by our Corporate sponsors Canada Post. We have formed partnerships with community groups and organizations so they will attend and help promote our clubs Open House, while putting a plug in for themselves to the community. It is a partnership that will open us up to a level of advertising that we can share at our events and hopefully our community  partners events.

Attending will be the city of Victoria Police Department who will bring their community police cruiser for display on our lawns. The Victoria Shriners will bring their clowns who will make balloons for the kids.

Jack FM Radio station who will do live broadcasts and prize giveaways, Hired entertainment at a discounted rate to promote himself and us -Donny ”Elvis” James. Also the Victoria Hotrod Association was asked to attend and put about six vehicles on display to attract more visitors. Remember : every association or group that you invite will invite their friends and family and will hopefully invite your club to their events as well.

Every radio and TV station has been contacted. All newspapers in Victoria, as well the Parks guides now have us as a weekly in their agenda or scoreboard. It is suggested that a member in your club work on Public Relations and not be given any other duty than to promote your club. We were in the 3 newspapers [7 articles ] , a community television ad and are set up for a live radio station broadcast this month. Our members and executive have been pushing our club and that has been a large part of our success.

We have 10 new members for our spring league, 7 new corporate or business sponsors who will bear a team name in our summer leagues and have tripled our sponsors banner displays for our courts.

You can go as far as you are willing to go with your clubs promotional activities - I believe there is no limit for Victoria !!

Hope to see you in Victoria.

Regards

Munj Manhas -President of the Victoria Horseshoe Pitching Association
